Community Involvement

EVB is committed to enriching the lives of those in our communities. EVB embraces the communities we serve and pursues opportunities to support low and moderate-income communities.

We actively show our commitment to building our communities into a better place through our participation in the following organizations:

  • Haven
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Humane Society
  • Ruritan Club
  • Rotary Club
  • Relay for Life
  • YMCA
  • And many more

Investments & Lending

EVB maintains an ongoing level of community development participation, including opportunities for the investment portfolio. In addition to investments with local counties and municipalities, we make low income housing investments through participation with the Housing Equity Fund of Virginia.

Affordable Housing Developer Financing

EVB offers special affordable housing loans for the construction, renovation and preservation of affordable housing. These loans are available to investors and developers of affordable housing in the low-income and moderate-income neighborhoods where we do business.

Construction Financing

For new construction and rehabilitation projects, EVB provides stand-alone construction financing or one-stop shopping for construction and permanent financing through a variety of term debt options.

Who Benefits?

Developers of single-family subdivisions or multifamily rentals, making these properties available to those who earn 80% or less of the area median income.

Community Assistance Program

The EVB Community Assistance Program is a program created to assist our existing customers who are having difficulty meeting larger basic expenses due to adverse economic conditions. There are certain criteria the borrower must meet to qualify for this program. Contact any of our branch locations for more information on this program.

Education & Credit Counseling

EVB recognizes the importance of ongoing education on topics addressing financial responsibility. Various EVB employees have conducted training in schools and civic organizations as well as served in leadership roles for community organizations. You can access our online Financial Answer Center for a variety of topics. We also partner with ClearPoint, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote consumer health through financial education. ClearPoint provides informative seminars for customers as well as Debt and Credit Counseling.

Employee/Corporate Philanthropy & Volunteerism

EVB employees donate time and resources to the charities that they have identified to represent EVB's culture. By raising money and awareness, EVB employees feel that they are making a rich contribution to society. EVB employees volunteer numerous hours of their own time. EVB, as a company, provides company time and paid time off for many volunteer efforts. EVB donates approximately $200,000 to varied causes across its branch network. Bank employees and regional boards are instrumental in making recommendations for corporate donations.
